New Collective Agreement
On Thursday May 5th a new Collective Agreement on the
private labour market was signed on behalf of the trade unions.
Workers in the
country who are members of the unions within The Icelandic Confederation of
Labour (ASÍ) have had no agreement with their employers for almost half a year.
During this period purchasing power has
decreased, we have been facing growing unemployment, many have experienced a
sharp drop in their income as working hours have been cut and many have to
accept job sharing and part time work. The bargaining negotiations of last
months have been especially difficult for the negotiators as increase in wage
payments have been dragged for months when people really need a pay rise. It
has been of great help to our negotiators that people in the unions have been
very supportive and all decisions have been made in complete agreements. The new agreement will be put to vote in the
trade unions and has to be ratified before May 25th in order to come
in to force.
It is clear that if
the unions and employers had not reached an agreement the road was open for
serious industrial disputes as the trade unions had started preparing for
massive strikes in the country.

Podwyzka w nastepnych trzech latach wynosic bedzie 11,4%, lecz podwyzka najnizszych wynagrodzen wyniesie 23,6%. 50.000 kr – doplata jednorazowa wyplacona zostanie zaraz po zatwierdzeniu umowy w glosowaniu, 25.000kr doplata w dwóch ratach w nastepnych miesiacach.1. Pracownicy, którzy przerwali prace w kwietniu lub pracowali w niepelnym wymiarze otrzymaja odpowiednio-procentowo mniejszy dodatek, w zaleznosci od przepracowanych godzin.b. Doplata do dodatku urlopowego – 10.000c. Doplata do dodatku swiatecznego – 15.000.
Kjarasamningar aðildarfélaga ASÍ undirritaðir
Stéttarfélögin hafa lagt mikla áherslu á að tryggja félagsmönnum
sínum launahækkanir þessa árs, en fullyrða má að þær kjaraviðræður sem fram
hafa farið á undanförnum mánuðum séu þær erfiðustu sem átt hafa sér stað áratuga
skeið. Fyrir utan erfitt efnahaglegt árfeði var ýmislegt annað sem truflaði.
Það hjálpaði samningamönnum okkar að finna þá miklu
eindrægni og staðfestu sem ríkti í stéttarfélögunum um þá stefnu sem tekin var
í viðræðunum. Þegar atvinnurekendur komu fram af óbilgirni lét verkalýðshreyfingin
ekki beygja sig heldur þétti raðirnar. Sá þrýstingur sem undirbúningur allsherjarverkfalls
framkallaði sýndi atvinnurekendum að verkalýðshreyfingin ætlaði að láta sverfa
til stáls. Í framhaldinu hófust samningaviðræður að nýju og nú með breyttu
viðhorfi SA. Eftir standa aðildarsamtök ASÍ með mun betri samning en
hreyfingunni stóð til boða fyrir páska. Mesti ávinningurinn er sá að í mjög
þröngri stöðu tókst með sameiginlegri launastefnu aðildarsamtaka ASÍ að tryggja
þeim meiri kjarabætur sem búa við lakari kjör og lægri tekjur.
